Dogs can represent objects called humans

Recordings of the dogs’ brain activity showed different patterns when the animals were shown the correct option. This indicates the dogs’ ability to associate words with certain objects.
The researchers added that it does not matter how many object labels the dog understands, as familiar words somehow activate a picture in the animal’s imagination. This ability, according to the scientists, is characteristic of all dogs, but not for outstanding individuals with a large vocabulary of familiar object names.
