Scientists say the Javan tiger is not extinct, but geneticists protest

Scientists say that it is impossible to say with certainty that this hair really belongs to the Javan tiger, and in addition, the DNA from the hair and the museum sample may have been contaminated, which makes them unsuitable for the conclusion about the existence of the animal.
Later, Anubab Khan, a specialist from the University of Copenhagen, conducted a follow-up study with the authors of the paper, which confirmed that the extracted hair did indeed belong to a tiger, but its subspecies could not yet be determined.
