The Israeli researchers added that ancient humans needed three things: water, food and stone. While water and food are essential for all members of the animal kingdom, humans needed stone tools to hunt and freshen animals, as they did not have the claws or fangs common to other predators. This is why ancient people invested great importance in stone quarries and even considered them somewhat sacred, making pilgrimages there from generation to generation.
Subsequently, research by scientists showed that the “Paleolithic Holy Trinity” was universal for those times: where there was water, there were elephants, and where there were elephants, people made stone tools for hunting.
